Blasterscoot

Blasterscoot

Prerequisites

none

Optional

The Blasterscoot is basically a roundhouse kick with one hand planted on the ground. The kicking leg is swung over to generate momentum for the next trick. It finishes in backside stance, making it very suitable for backside kicks and backflipping tricks.

You can also view it as a one handed cartwheel, where the 'jumping leg' never leaves the ground.

Start off like you would for a cartwheel. I also winded my body up into the other direction to get some momentum.

Spot the ground and place your leading hand onto the ground.

Lower your upper body, so you can lift your kicking leg as high as you can. Being flexible will definitely help.

Kick through all the way to the other side. Keep your upper body low and your hand planted.

Push off the ground with your hand as your kicking leg finishes the kick.

Stand up out of the blasterscoot to get maximum momentum and height for the next trick.

Tips

You spot the ground just like you would for a scoot. It will give you more control for the next trick. However you can also spot a target in front of you and kick through, to give it a more martial arts based style.

You can also miss the ground with your kicking leg, instead of planting it down, so you can swing into the next trick.

If you lack flexibility, you can also swing your leg more to the front instead of over. You will get a little bit less vertical momentum but more off axis momentum. That's useful for off axis twisting tricks.
