Fronthandspring

Fronthandspring

Prerequisites

Performing tricker: bam.defocus
The fronthandspring is a handstand where you flip forwards back onto your feet. Even though it's part of the trick, you don't really need to have a handstand for this, as you spent very little amount of time on your hands. The carthandspring is way more useful to have.

Carthandspring

The carthandspring is a fronthandspring that is entered from the side. It's a very easy move and feels very similar to a fronthandspring. It will teach you how to push off with your hands and how to swing your legs for the landing.

This is the 'hurdle'. Make a big hopping step foward with your arms up.

Land in a 1-2 motion so you won't lose any momentum. Reach down with both hands. Keep your arms straight.

Swing your backleg up straight as your hands make contact with the floor. Continue swinging the backleg throughout the whole trick.

Jump off with your other leg. Try to swing both legs as hard as possible. The less weight on your hands the better.

As soon as both legs meet in the air, you push off with both hands and arch your back. Keep your chin up and don't tuck it in.

Try to bring your legs down close to you. Try to travel as less as possible.

That way you won't land in a crouched position. Sticked!

Tips

Drill carthandsprings and this trick should be very easy. All you have to do is modify the setup a bit.

This trick requires a bit of momentum, so take a small run or jog into.

Shoulder and back flexibility can also go a long way, as you won't need to clear as much airtime if you can bend forward longer before you push off.
