Frontsweep

Frontsweep

Prerequisites

none

Optional

none
The Frontsweep is a round kick done very low to the ground by dropping onto the side of your knee.

Stand with your kicking leg behind you, similar to the start of a round kick.

Reach down with your hand while you drop onto the side of your non kicking legs knee. Spot forward and get ready to sweep.

As soon as your knee makes contact with the ground you start your kick from one side all the way to the other.  You can use both arms for support if you want.

...but don't stop here. Keep swinging to the back.

Swing all the way back until you can stand on the sweeping leg again. Push off with your hands if you need to.

Tips
The Frontsweep can also be done without hands at all but requires a little bit more speed.

Try to drop your knee to the side and not directly underneath you, so you won't cause any injuries to the shin.
