B-Twist Round

B-Twist Round

Prerequisites

The B-Twist Round is a Butterfly Twist with a Roundkick delivered after the twist. It's basically a horizontal Skip Roundkick.

Well you could basically just do a B-Twist and add a roundkick to it. If that's not as simple for you as it sounds, here's a way to progress into it using a skip roundkick.

01 Tsunami Kick

Also known as stepover hook kick. It's such an useful trick. You should learn it. It can also be used to learn the B-Twist.

02 minus Kick

This time with no kick! Just keep your kicking leg bent.

03 Hyper Step 02

And now hyper that. This is basically an upright B-Twist. Your kicking leg will come over almost by itself. Use your arms too. Swing them wide into the spin and then close to your body.

04 Add a Roundkick

This move is also known as a skip 9 or skip round. Just do step 03 and add a round kick. Remember to spot a target. This is almost a B-Twist Round now.

05 Add the setup

Now add the momentum steps, that you also use for the B-Twist. This is basically an completely  vertical B-Twist Round.

06 B-Twist Round

For the last step,  all you need is to add a little more lift from your back leg to get more horizontal. Do note that you don't have to be completely horizontal for this trick. The more you invert, the harder it gets to kick. So bring your upper body up a little bit more vertical than how you would for a B-Twist.

Tips

Practice this trick vertically as much as you need to before you bring it into the horizontal plane.

If you have trouble to get a high kick out, go back to B-Twists and practice those. You should be able to land a B-Twist fairly easy and controlled.

If you're kick is coming out too late, making it low and off balance, then you're most likely doing too much B-Twist and not enough skip round. Just forget about the B-Twist for now and just think skip round, right as you takeoff. It already has a twist built in, so there's no need to think "B-Twist" at all.
