B-Twist Shuriken

B-Twist Shuriken

Prerequisites

Optional

Illusion Twist
The B-Twist Shuriken is a Pop 360 Hyper done from a B-Twist takeoff. The B-Twist Shuriken lands in Mega or Complete (one footed), while the Illusion Twist lands on both feet.

01 B-Twist

The most important prerequisite for this trick is of course the standard Butterfly Twist. You should be able to perform it rather effortless and land comfortably with your chest up. Your B-Twist needs some height to fit a Pop 360 Hyper into it.

02 Pop 360 Hyper

B-Twist Shuriken really is only a Pop 360 Hyper with a Butterfly Twist takeoff. That means if you improve at this trick, your Shuriken will improve too. Practice kicking the kick around really fast and try to bring down right underneath you to lessen the landing impact. Spot forward at your target and not the ground.

03 Shuriken

Now just put it together. Take a look at the inversion level. The B-Twist Shuriken does not have to be horizontal. Take off into your B-Twist high and powerful but keep your upper body up. It should immediately feel like a very fast Pop 360 Hyper after you takeoff. Spot just the same as you would for the Pop 360 Hyper and kick your foot around fast. The trick can also be done horizontal or even slightly inverted, but those are a lot harder. Start with this variation and go from there.

Tips

Film yourself and observe your level of inversion. If you can’t land this trick it may be because you’re too horizontal or even inverted.

Do not look at the floor. Spot just like you would for the Pop 360 Hyper and kick through fast.

Just because you can stay more vertical with this trick, doesn’t mean you don’t have to dip down in the setup. The Dip is still very important to gain as much height as possible when you takeoff.

Don’t forget to use your arms to generate twisting momentum. Swing the wide open into the trick and then bring them close to your chest for the twist.

Your upper body actually only has to twist about 180 degrees for this trick (You only need a fast ripping motion with your upper body to come around). Your hip will face forward towards your target almost all the way until you land. So the full 360 degrees will be completed by your kicking leg.
