Sailor Jackknife

Sailor Jackknife

Prerequisites

Jackknife

This is a Jackknife with a floor tap before takeoff. It’s very similar to a Sailor Swipeknife but it stays more vertical. Very easy if you have the two prerequisites.

01 Sailormoon

The Sailormoon is a Raiz with a floor tap. It’s very easy and you don’t even need to have a very good one for this trick. The Jackknife is way more important.

02 Jackknife

Sailor Jackknife is 90 % Jacknife and only 10 % Sailormoon, so if you have a solid Jackknife adding just a tap to the floor will be very easy.

03 Sailor Jackknife

Some tricks are quite hard at first but become very easy if you have the right prerequisites. This is one of them. It’s of course not easily attained for a beginner but as soon as you unlock the Jackknife you get this one for free. Just make sure the floor tap doesn’t interfere with your setup, but rather it should be a flowing part of it. As soon as you tap the floor, bring your upper body back up fast. It’s actually quite similar to the dipping motion for the B-Twist. Turn around fast and spot your target early. This will make you stay as vertical as possible. The rest is just your normal Jackknife.

Tips

If you can’t make it all the way around for the hook kick, you may be stopping your momentum with the hand tap. If that happens try to do this exact trick but without it. I don’t mean to just perform a normal Jackknife but do the actual Sailor Jackknife without the handtap. Dip your upper body down low and bring it back up fast again, but actually don’t tap the floor. This will teach you how to direct your momentum for this trick. And then just add the tap later.
