Pop 720

Pop 720

Prerequisites

The Pop 720 is a Backside 720 that you enter from Frontside, so it adds about 180 degrees
of rotation.

You can also view it as a Pop 360, where you complete one spin on the way up, before you kick out.

01 Backside 720

The Backside 7 is the most important prerequisite. It’s almost the same trick as the Pop 7, minus 180 degrees. Make sure you spot your target as you jump up and then you turn around fast to respot and to kick through. Swing your arms wide into the trick and then bring them close to your body for a quick spin.

02 Pop Tornado

This trick will teach you how to enter tricks from a pop setup. It will also greatly improve your air awareness in pop setup tricks.

03 Cheat 720

If you already know how to do a Cheat 720, then the Pop 720 will be just as easy. Otherwise you’ll need to learn how to pump your legs for an optimal hook or crescent kick. As you face forward after the jump (the moment when you would fire you’re round kick in a Pop Tornado), that’s when you pump your leg over to get into the best position for the kick. Imagine canceling a Tornado Kick into a Tsunami in mid air.

04 Pop 720

Enter the same way, as you would enter a Pop Tornado. As you start to face forward, raise your knee and pump it over the other, while at the same time you spot forward. Turn around quickly and respot your target. Kick through.
So in essence Pop Tornado + Tsunami = Pop 720.

Tips

Try not to lean back too much, or else it would be hard to land upright. You can lean back slightly, to make some room for the pumping motion.

If done horizontal or inverted, the Pop 720 turns into a Full Hyperhook.

If you fall forward after the kick, you’re leaning too much into the direction of travel. Try to stay more upright.

There are two instances where you spot in this trick. Right after you come around to face the target and then when you kick out.
